She buries him with a handmade marker, transforming a silly companion into the first friend whose loss permanently changes her.

Mister Blue’s Escort

Mister Blue’s Escort Friendship through Trade Mister Blue first helps Broccoli find the Seven-Petal Candle Flower after her honey bargain earns the pixies’ cooperation. The parting is painful because it proves that friendship can be real even when it is brief.

Oak’s Mutual Aid

Oak’s Mutual Aid A Dangerous Meeting Oak first appears as a dryad protecting his forest from the abominations Broccoli has accidentally led toward him. His strength saves her, but his suspicion remains. Tools and Trust Broccoli cleans Oak’s wounds and teaches him about spears and bows. Oak creates Oak’s Living Spear and helps clear the Two-Lipped Tulip, turning mutual usefulness into friendship.

Gunther and Throat Ripper

Gunther and Throat Ripper Devotion after Death Gunther resurrected Throat Ripper rather than accept the dog’s death. Their relationship is the emotional foundation of his isolated life and his undead household. Compassion Returned Gunther lends Throat Ripper to Broccoli’s rescue mission, trusting her because she values the dog as a friend. His generosity enlarges Broccoli’s chosen family beyond the living.
